  Multiple Email Accounts


It is important to remember when using onechoice.net, you can have two email accounts working side by side. Do NOT delete multiple email accounts prior to using the OneChoice email system

Please note when running two email accounts side-by-side, you could potentially experience errors sending and receiving email. Error examples are listed below (but not limited to):

  • The User Name and Password may be requested multiple times.

  • A message may be given stating the User Name and Password is invalid.

  • A message box may appear stating the server didn’t respond within the allotted amount of time:

    • The message may request the user try again in 60 seconds or another predetermined amount of time.

To try again, you can continue to select the Send/Receive option. However, errors are likely to continue because the application is not being used as the manufacturer intended.

For best resolution do one of the the following:

Microsoft Outlook

  • Use Microsoft Outlook with two clients.

  • Set up separate identities in Outlook Express for each email account and login to each separately when checking email for the different accounts. Completing the following steps in Outlook Express can set up separate identities:

    • On the File menu, point to Identities.
      Click Add New Identity.

    • Enter the name of the new user.
      Select the Require a Password option, and enter a password if you would like a password to be included for this identity. 

    • Outlook Express will ask you if you want to log on as the new user. If you answer yes, you will be prompted for information about your Internet connection. If you answer no, the current user remains logged on.

    • To switch to the new identity, click Switch Identity on the File menu and select the user you wish to switch to.

Microsoft Outlook Express

  • Manually set up information in Outlook Express for the incoming and outgoing email servers. To do this the user should complete the following steps. Please note the steps provided below may vary slightly based on the version of Outlook Express the customer is using.

    • From the Tools menu click Accounts.

    • In the Internet Accounts dialog box click the Add button. 

    • Select Mail. 

    • Next to Display name enter your name or the name you would like displayed (i.e. John Doe).

    • Click Next.

    • In the Internet E-mail Address window, complete the following information:

      • In the text box next to the E-mail address field, enter your email address (i.e. mylogin@onechoice.net).

      • Click Next.

  • In the E-mail Server Names window, complete the following information:

    • My incoming mail server is a – Choose POP3 from the drop down.

    • In the text box under the Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server field enter pop.onechoice.net.

    • In the text box under the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field enter outmail.onechoice.net.

    • Click Next.

  • In the Internet Mail Logon window, complete the following information: 

    • In the text box next to the Account Name field, enter the account name given by Excel and add the domain name. (For example mylogin@onechoice.net).

    • In the text box next to the Password field, enter the appropriate password.

    • Click the box to add/remove the check in the Remember Password field.

    • Leave the box unchecked at the Logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) field.

    • Click Next.

    • Click Finish.

  • Under Internet mail window, the account name pop.onechoice.net should already be listed. Complete the following information:

    • Highlight the account that was created and click Properties.

    • Click the Servers Tab.

    • Under the Outgoing Mail Server section, select the check box next to My server requires authentication. 

    • Click OK.

    • Click Close.

    • Click Next.

  • In the Choose Connection Type window, complete the following information:

    • Select Connect using my phone line.

    • Click Next.

  • In the Dialup Connection window, complete the following information:

    • Select Use an existing dialup connection.

    • Highlight (click once on) link.

    • Click Next.

  • In the Congratulations window, complete the following information:

    • Click Finish.

    • Click Close.

    • Exit from Outlook Express.
